This river forms a natural border between Namibia and Botswana, but it confusingly changes its name several times in this region. Lebala Camp is in the Kwando Concession which has 80km (50 miles) of Kwando riverfront.

This river forms a natural border between Namibia and Botswana but it confusingly changes its name several times in this region. Lebala Camp is in the Kwando Concession which has 80km (50 miles) of Kwando riverfront. As the river travels south it hits a volcanic fault line, which causes a dramatic 90-degree change of course from south-east to north-east. Once on its new course it is known the Linyanti River. Later as it passes through the Chobe National Park it is again re-named into the Chobe River.

Hippo (Hippopotamus Amphibius)

The group of Hippos is led by 1 large male. Other members are females, their young, and a few young adult males. The male keeps control of his mating territory by fighting off rivals and when challenged he opens his enormous mouth, revealing long canines.
